On Aug. 6, eight residents and several associates from Rensselaer Care Center took a trip to Shadyhill Speedway, a local dirt racing track.

The track allowed the group free admission and a free meal of burgers, hot dogs, chips and soda. Dirt stock car racing is popular in the area, and residents enjoyed watching the old stock cars whizz around the track.

“It was a lot of fun to be at a dirt track again,” said resident Ray Minick. “It brought back a lot of memories. I used to go a lot in my younger years.”
